Defense is sometimes the best offense in the NBA. NBA 2K22’s Defense/Rebounding badges allow you to craft your playing in such a way as to become a defensive and rebounding powerhouse.

Here are a few of the best defense/rebounding badges to equip for your MyPlayer in NBA 2K22, to help you instantly go from liabilities to turnover generating monsters.

Defensive/Rebounding Badges

Ball Stripper

• Description: Helps increase the chance of a steal when attempting to strip a layup or dunk near the basket.

Ball Stripper is a new badge for NBA 2K22 and boosts your player’s ability to strip layup and dunk attempts. It is in the defensive category of badges.

Centers and power forwards might want to pencil this badge into the plans. The Ball Stripper badge allows the holder to increase the chance of forcing a turnover when attempting to strip a layup or dunk near a basket. This can be a helpful tool when weaker players try to attack the paint and are very helpful in forcing turnovers.

Clamps

• Description: Boosts the ability to stay in front of the ball handler on the perimeter.

Clamps were arguably the best badge in NBA 2K21, and it’s back for 2K22. It’s the best Defensive badge for perimeter players and allows you to bump and harass offensive players, stop rim runs, and even disrupt dribble combinations from the opposition.

Point guards, but more importantly, shooting guards, small and power forwards, must have the Clamps badge. It stops players from getting around clean on the perimeter. They can try to drive in, but with enough points in this badge, a defender will remain squarely in the way of the basket. This badge is pivotal if you want any chance of stopping sharp-shooting guards and forwards who have a knack for dropping mid-range shots.

Intimidator

• Description: Offensive players have less success shooting when contested by players with badges.

Most players could use this badge, but big men, in particular, could use the Intimidator badge. The best interior defense badge that will make opponents miss shots if you are in the general area. It needs to be maxed for all big men to play their role as paint defenders properly. Try to fit this badge in your build if you can.

Post Lockdown

• Description: Improves the defender’s ability to defend post moves and backdowns.

Post-Lockdown is another badge that big men will need in NBA 2K22. This badge improves the defender’s ability to defend post moves. It increases the chances of a defender preventing an offensive post move from succeeding.

Centers and power forwards will need plenty of help when playing defense, so this badge should be one on your shortlist. It can be helpful to should you match up within who likes post moves.

Rebound Chaser

• Description: Improves ability to track down rebounds from farther distances than usual.

Rebound Chaser is the reworked version of Hustle Rebounder for NBA 2K20 and improves a player’s ability to track down rebounds from farther distances than usual.

This is essentially a must-have badge if you’re big. The Rebound Chaser badge helps players judge where an errant ball will land and has them jump in the correct direction. If they hope to compete with centers, the best power forward will need to grab some badges and hunt for rebounds under the rim. This, for the most part, will give the holder a significant rebounding advantage against those who don’t, just because the badge boosts the possibility of getting the correct animation when you can rebound.

Tireless Defender

• Description: Reduces energy lost when exerting effort on defense.

Defending is more draining even than running a fast break every play, and you will be pounding that turbo button a lot while you’re chasing the ball handler around. The Tireless Defender badge can help keep your defender engaged for longer. If you plan on getting involved in online play, expect to come across many users who will run with fast builds. To keep up on D, Tireless Defender should come in handy. Perimeter defenders would be wise to get this badge on a higher level, as it will allow you to play tough defense on-ball each possession, especially in the shorter Park games.

These are what we think is a list of the best defense & rebounding badges available in NBA 2K22. Also, for more on NBA 2K22 badges, feel free to check out here.
